OUR PROCESS
We provide independent services to help improve the use of the data you are collecting to fine-tune your farm operation. This includes using planting and harvest data along with public information like weather, soils and topography to help guide decisions. If you feel you have data you have been collecting, but not getting enough answers from, let's talk about beginning steps to change that.
Yield Data
Chances are you have been collecting data from your farms for several years. While this data is useful for a variety of reasons, it can also be useful in helping drive management in the future. Even if you feel the accuracy in some years wasn’t where you want it, it can provide a starting point. Calibration of your system is a discussion to help you get the most out of it. We can adjust yield if needed, removing erroneous data, and give tips for the next year to help improve collection.
Management Zones
With several years of yield data, we can take those layers and identify areas in the field that are more or less productive than others. This provides a starting point to help manage the field accordingly. We strongly look at yield history, but also evaluate manure history, topography, as well as soil texture to improve those zones. Zone maps will be updated as needed if additions like tile, or general productivity are improved to maximize those areas.
Planting Data
Asking questions on your management in previous years, we can start to look at how to increase the planting efficiency to convert seeds to bushels. We strongly encourage a variety of populations in a consistent area of a field to help understand Yield and Economics. These are incorporated into your prescription to allow you to ‘just plant’ and let the prescription adjust the rates for you. This information on your farm using your management is very helpful in understanding how to improve for future years. Variety comparisons will also help guide decisions for future years as well.
Crop Management
Other practices such as Variable rate N, Fungicide application, or any seed treatments can be evaluated as well. We will help guide you on the best ways to apply and record these treatments to learn from them for future years. As growers ourselves, we factor in economics to these practices to ensure that these investments cover the cost to put them in.
Soil Testing & Prescriptions
If you want some independent opinions on fertility recommendations, bring us your soil test results and we can create a portfolio of your map results, as well as provide recommendations for fertilizer application. We do not sell on commission, so we have no interest in over prescribing fertilizer, but we do want to ensure that it is placed in the areas of the farm that need the most help.
